About the Artwork
The Sabbatic Goat was created by French occultist Éliphas Lévi in the
nineteenth century and published in Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie.
The figure became one of the most enduring symbols in Western occult imagery.
Baphomet’s arms bear the Latin words SOLVE and COAGULA,
references to dissolution and recombination in alchemical tradition.
