Les Origines — Plate 2 by Odilon Redon. Redon was a French symbolist painter and printmaker who often worked in charcoal and pastel. A veteran of the Franco-Prussian war Odilon Redon returned from the battlefield with dark dreams that would fill his later works. His charcoal drawings feature bizarre sometimes surreal creatures that reflect Redon's unique palette.
“Charcoal does not allow kindness; it is sober, and only with real emotion can you draw results from it." A dark statement in any room. These matte, museum-quality posters are printed on durable, archival paper.
