Transfiguration
Olivier de Sagazan is a contemporary French painter, sculptor, and performance Artist. His long-running performance work "Transfiguration" is built upon the act of applying clay and paint to the artist's body and face, often to horrifying yet memorable effect. In relation, De Sagazan's Dark illustrative paintings are built from layers of thick oil paint creating grotesque flesh type textures on canvas. While de Sagazan utilizes multiple disciplines his Artwork keeps a frightening and consistent aesthetic approach. Hailing from the Congo and now based in Nazaire, France, de Sagazan creates a uniquely horrifying world through his Art. Exposing the primal animal and mortal sides of his human subjects, the Artist captivates with his Dark multiple discipline creations.
