Apocalyptic Renaissance
Paolo Girardi is an Italian painter who creates richly-colored, apocalyptic, and macabre works. His detailed worlds, somber palette and hellish compositions recall a history of master painters: Ruoppolo, Hieronymus Bosch, Porpora, and, at times, even Pieter Bruegel's festering landscapes.

While paying homage to the traditional methods of painting, Paolo's work has a thoroughly-dark thematic approach that is instantly recognizable. The Artist's epic and illustrative canvases has been used by a roster of Heavy Metal and Doom groups, such as Bell Witch, Black Breath, Lycus, Vastum, Battle Ram, Artificial Brain, and many more. Paolo currently resides in the town of Ascoli Piceno, Italy where he creates within his studio. Please view some of our favorite pieces by the Artist below and follow him directly.
